Reverend Dr. Timothy West has been the senior pastor of Westphalia United Methodist Church, in Upper Marlboro, MD, since July of 1998.

Reverend Dr. West received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of the District of Columbia, a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He also completed his Doctorate of Ministry in Leadership Excellence from Wesley Theological Seminary.

Reverend Dr. West has been encouraged and mentored by many leaders in the church. Reverend Donald Adams introduced Reverend Dr. West to the Lord and to a style of preaching that continues to reach people of all ages and walks of life. Reverend Dr. West’s call to preach the gospel was confirmed by Rev. James O. Waters, and he continues to be directed in his preaching by Reverend Dr. William B. McClain.

Reverend Dr. West is a dynamic leader who believes in building churches by sharing the Word of God to aid in the spiritual growth of his members, specifically through his sermons and biblical teachings. Reverend Dr. West has had great success in helping to build the physical structures at the two churches where he has served as Senior Pastor.

Reverend Dr. West is currently leading Westphalia United Methodist Church in a 25,000 square foot building project. Westphalia’s new edifice will be situated on 13 acres of land and will consist of a 500 seat sanctuary, fellowship hall, multiple classrooms and offices. Reverend Dr. West is focused on community outreach and is highly respected by numerous county officials. Reverend Dr. West currently serves as the President of the Greater Westphalia Community Development Corporation (GWCDC). He believes that Westphalia United Methodist Church should be a benefit to its surrounding community and through his commitment to outreach has continually encouraged programs such as the GWCDC’s Summer Enrichment Academy as well as Westphalia’s Annual Community Day. Both programs are of little or no cost to the members of the community. Reverend Dr. West is an anointed man of God who lives by the principle: As long as you do what is right, the Lord will take care of the rest.

Reverend Dr. West and his wife, Stephanie, are the proud parents of Ashley NiAnna and Alexandra Nicole West. The family resides in Hughesville, Maryland.
