The Ministry has been involved with the seniors and juniors in the WUMC congregation. We have four seniors and four juniors. Some of these students and their parents were feted at a Christmas social sponsored by the Ministry in December. Each of the students received gift certificates. A workshop on writing skills was a part of the program.
The Ministry provides regular updates relative to available scholarships and job opportunities to each of the students and their parents.
There are plans for other workshop experiences covering a number of topics – budgeting and wise credit use, interviewing skills, entrepreneurial opportunities.
The Ministry is in process of planning for Education Sunday, June 14. We expect to follow the successes of the past two years and to sponsor an outstanding program that will highlight the graduating students: Avery Brooks, Ricky Taylor, ( I will get the other two names, I cannot find my list at the moment.)
Among the honors that we are aware of at this time – Ricky Taylor has been elected to the Who’s Who of Outstanding High School Students.
The Ministry encourages all WUMC members to make contribution to the Scholarship fund so that we may be able to offer substantive scholarship and concrete encouragement to our very worthy students
