COMMITMENT BREEDS EFFECTIVENESSCommit comes from the Latin word which means to bind together.
Once again Westphalia has made me and the first family proud to be your spiritual leader and spiritual family. I know it may read like a cliché but you continue to perform at levels of excellence greater than before. Two thousand nine, beginning with Watch Night Service, every ministry has produced a program ministry that was spiritually filling and well organized. The results prove that careful planning and committed servants can produce an effective ministry.
The bible teaches us that to whom much is given much is required. This stands as an encourager for us to continue on this pathway of commitment. Our success as a church is not commended to our strength, but the spiritual mindset in which God has elevated in us through the Holy Spirit. In other words, we are not to look back on the past and see it as who we are, but embrace the past as an introductory sign of who and what we can be as a ministry in Christ Jesus.
The road ahead is filled with many possibilities for us to grow in greater love for our Lord, to serve God with greater ambition and to grow God’s Kingdom spiritually, physically and financially. The possibilities is like a goal we will continue to strive after, move closer to yet always be in our future to encourage us to improve on our past. In essence, yesterday’s success – yesterday’s commitment must not be the end result, but the standard from which we begin ministry today.
I believe the best has yet to come. I believe in order to obtain our better tomorrow we must grow our faith by committing ourselves to God more and not rest on our past. I see and hear each ministry at work for a better you and I hope this note from your pastor will serve as a motivator to keep up the great work that the Lord has certainly began in you.
Grace and Peace, Rev. Dr. Tim West
